I'm not following some of these reviews. I think Open Table has a description called "hidden gem" and that's how I'd describe this establishment.
The founder is Andrew and he hand built essentially every piece of bar, furniture, cabinetry, the deck and pergola by hand in the basement workshop. Much of the materials were reclaimed including the glass and brass from a 1950's cafeteria. He took the same care in crafting the beer selection and menu which is authentically executed using local ingredients where possible.
On a recent visit I had the pastrami sandwich and a lager (or two). I thought they were both above average and reasonably priced. Two dollars off draft beer on Tuesdays!
The icing on the cake was meeting the bartender (and server as it was early evening) JD who is a real life train conductor! How appropriate being set in a building previously used for maintenance and repair of train cars.
While apparently mistaken for just a bar that brews their own beers by some there is a terrior about the place. Come visit and take in the food and beer and people. It's pretty special.

I can’t agree with some of these negative reviews. This is a great neighborhood brewpub. I hear they have gone through a few rough spots in the past but the staff are really friendly and the food is quite good.
Try the street tacos and the quesadilla. The Golden Ale is a go for me. As a new transplant to Raleigh, I love the patio and the local feel. It’s definitely worth a try if you haven’t been lately…

My girlfriend and I went to BBB last weekend and I have already gone back to bring friends!
They have a great selection of food and beer, as well as, the best staff in the area! JD remembered me by name and was very friendly.
The best thing about BBB is the awesome view of the Raleigh Skyline.
Go try it today because the new management is on to something awesome here!

Absolutely fantastic service and the food was delicious. I stopped in on a whim and was beyond impressed by how friendly the staff was. The food was delicious and extremely reasonably priced. They brew their own beer which was also awesome. They have an outdoor patio with a great view of the Raleigh skyline.
