Three Companies, One Voice
While the Boylan Bridge Brewpub may be the flagship enterprise in the building at the corner of Boylan Av and Hargett St, two other businesses, the Boylan Barrelworks and the Hargett Hill Distillery are interwoven into the fabric of the brewpub’s future. The entire building is occupied under a single lease to Andrew Leager, the voice of all three companies. Taken together, these companies offer a package of related services.
Hargett Hill Distillery
The brewery in the Boylan Bridge Brewpub has excess production capacity. During winter months, the seasonal decline in beer consumption leaves valuable brewing equipment standing idle. By setting up Hargett Hill Distillery, a small-batch artisan distillery in the building, the brewery equipment can operate year round, producing not only beer but also the fermented wash for the distillery to convert into spirituous liquor. Hargett Hill will produce single malt whiskey, bourbon, vodka, gin, rum, brandy, and any other liquor that suits our fancy.
Progress so far:
The 12,000 square foot shop space in the building below the brewpub has been used for a cabinet shop since 2005 but ceased operation in 2013. We are re-purposing all the woodworking equipment to process the wood staves and heads for 25-gallon whiskey barrels. We will use half our barrels to age the single malt whiskey and bourbon produced by Hargett Hill Distillery. The other half we will sell in the marketplace.
Progress so far:
We can’t overemphasize the importance of the common purpose served by having these three companies under one roof. The strategic functions of each are interlocked together for the benefit of all.
This recent wall cave-in may have interrupted the dream but the dream lives on. We’ve come too far to let this hiccup disrupt our future. Check with us at the end of the summer.
